What is power2give.org?

It’s Tampa Bay’s new funding platform for local arts organizations! The concept is simple: Nonprofit organizations list needs for a specific project – for example, costumes for an upcoming show or instruments for undeserved children. Visitors to the site choose the project that matches their interests or touches their hearts and make a donation. The donation may be as little as $5 but that very important contribution supports local arts and enables creativity to flourish.
With tools and resources for both donors and cultural organizations, power2give.org makes posting, donating and promoting projects convenient and engaging. On power2give, all gifts are processed even if the project only receives partial funding. Unlike some crowd funding sites, you keep the money you raise whether you hit your target or not. Projects are listed on the site for a maximum of 90 days, or until they meet their financial goals.

Who can post projects?

You may post a project if:

  • You represent a 501(c)3 nonprofit arts and cultural organization located in Hillsborough or Pinellas Counties that has been registered as a charitable organization with the State of Florida for at least one year at the time of posting
  • You are authorized to post projects on behalf of the 501(c)3 that you represent
  • You hold a valid solicitation agreement in the State of Florida (If you are a professional solicitor, you are registered with the State of Florida and have a valid solicitation agreement with the 501(c)3 that you represent.)
  • You can provide a copy of the organization’s 2012 990 IRS Form

Project Requirements

  • Project funding will be used only for the intended purpose you state on the site
  • Projects posted to the site will only be related to arts and culture organizations
  • Project request amounts will not exceed $10,000.

Artist’s Free Critique

Studio 1212 offers a free critique the third Tuesday of every month.  We invite all artists to bring in one or two unframed, unfinished paintings to be critiqued.

Studio 1212 was founded in October 1970 by former students of William Pachner and is the oldest artist cooperative in the Tampa Bay area of Florida.

The purpose of Studio 1212 is to provide the opportunity to associate with other artists on an informal  basis; also, to promote group discussions, exhibit work as a group, support open workshops and information exchange regarding the arts. In addition, we endeavor to sponsor art education in our community.
